Understanding Poetry

THE POOL PLAYERS.
SEVEN AT THE GOLDEN SHOVEL

Original by Gwendolyn Brooks
Modifying by Oscar Hernández

We feel good. We
learn faster.

We wait hidden. We
dirty souls

We taste sin. We
full throats.

We shake hips. We
smell death.

  1. Oscar,

I am intrigued by the additions and changes you made--to me, it seems a bit earthier and more physical. Is that the effect you were aiming for? Great job!
